Donor Information

What is the most important piece of information necessary to select a sperm donor?

  1. Medical History
  2. Height
  3. Ethnicity
  4. GPA
  5. Childhood Photo
  6. All of the above (and then some)

No matter how you answered, you are absolutely correct – because everyone uses a different set of criteria to choose their ideal donor. That’s why California Cryobank has created multiple ways for you to personalize your access to our Donor Information Center:

  1. Subscribe
Choose from our three Subscription Levels (Sneak Peek, The Essentials, Full Access) to view information on all available donors. This is a convenient and inexpensive way to compare hundreds of options, often times discovering an amazing donor you may have otherwise overlooked.
  2. Individual Items
Purchase individual items from our a la carte menu to download and/or print at your convenience. Ordering individual items can get expensive, so be sure to have your choices really narrowed down before opting for the a la carte option.

Either way, donor information purchased online (except Donor Matching) is accessed from your My Account page. Please contact our Client Services Department at 866-927-9622 with any questions.

All Donor Information provided on this website (including free information, individual "a la carte" items, or paid subscriptions) is the sole property of the California Cryobank and is intended for the individual use of our registered clients only. The Donor Profile is a great way to get to know a little bit about a lot of donors. Read about a donor's hobbies, talents, likes and dislikes, and more. All Donor Profiles are available with the Level I (Sneak Peek) subscription plan – included with your free online account.

Medical History
The Medical History is a summary of three generations of the donor's family medical history. The Medical History is available at no charge with your free online account

Genetic Test Summary
The GTS provides you with a summary of the results of the genetic tests have been performed on a donor.  CCB uses guidelines of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) to aid in determining the best practices for genetic testing on our donors.  The GTS is available at no charge with your free online account so you can be comfortable that you are selecting a donor whose genetic test results are appropriate for your needs.

Donor Personal Essays
Donor Essays vary in length and are available with Level I (Sneak Peek) subscription plan – included with your free online account. Donor Personal Essays are an opportunity to experience a more introspective side of a donor. Get to know "who" the donor is beyond his medical records and statistics.

Staff Impressions
Staff Impressions are personal insights written by CCB employees who have worked directly with our donors. The reports vary in length and are available with the Level I (Sneak Peek) subscription plan - included with your free online account.

Extended Donor Profile
The Extended Donor Profile contains a detailed three-generation medical and genetic history that goes well beyond the basic health information found in the Medical History. We strongly encourage reviewing the Extended Donor Profile before making your final donor choice. Access to all Extended Donor Profiles is included in Level II (The Essentials) subscription plan. Individual Profiles may also be purchased a la carte for download.

Childhood Photo(s)
The Childhood Photo(s) range in age from 6 months to 12 years. Most donors will have a series of 2-3 different photos available; some may have only one or possibly no photo at all. All available photos are accessible via Level II (The Essentials) subscription plan. Please note the photos may be color or black and white with varying quality depending on the original photo supplied by the donor. Childhood Photo(s) are also available for individual purchase on our web site for immediate download. Printed 5x7 copies of the photo(s) can be obtained by contacting our Client Services Department at 866-927-9622 (additional charges may apply for prints and mailing).

Donor Conversation
Donor Conversations are available for most CCB donors. The conversational interview allows you to hear donor's voice as he discusses a variety of topics specific to his personal history and interests. It is an interesting way to "get to know the donor" or relate to him on a level that goes beyond the written word. Many CCB parents save the Donor Conversation for their child to hear in the future. Playback of all Donor Conversations can be accessed through the Level III (Full Access) subscription plan. Donor Conversations can also be purchased individually for downloaded or you may have a CD mailed to you by ordering over the phone at 866-927-9622.

Express Yourself
Express Yourself presents each donor with a blank piece of paper and the opportunity to present "who" he is in any form that best suits his personality. You'll find original poetry, songs, essays, photographs, drawings, recipes, and anything else a donor can imagine to express his inner-self. It is a fascinating way to get to know a donor like never before. The more of them you read, the more unique and interesting your favorite donors become. Express Yourself is included in both Level II (The Essentials) and Level III (Full Access) subscription options (online viewing only). If you prefer to purchase Express Yourself for individual donors, they may be ordered and downloaded from the Donor Information Center a la cart menu. Please note that Express Yourself is not available for all donors.

Keirsey Report
The Keirsey Temperament Sorter is a widely used personality test available for many CCB donors. Clients receive a 10 page report, which can be used as a tool to assist with donor selection or may provide an interesting insight into your own child's temperament someday. Keirsey Reports for every donor are available with the Level III (Full Access) subscription plan. They may also be purchased and downloaded a la carte for individual donors.

Keirsey Q&A
The Keirsey Q&A includes each donor's answers to ten specific questions from the Keirsey Temperament Sorter. These sample questions were carefully selected by CCB staff from a total of 70 questions to provide further insight into each donor's unique personality. What does your favorite donor do when waiting in line? Does he consider himself a good listener? Find out by accessing the Keirsey Q&A, available through purchase of our Level III (Full Access) subscription plan.

Facial Features Report
The Facial Features Report includes illustrated examples of facial features in key areas. For each area, our Donor Matching Counselor indicates which facial features apply to that particular donor. Facial Feature Reports for all donors are available with the Level III (Full Access) subscription package. They may also be purchased and downloaded a la carte for individual donors.

Donor Matching Consultations
California Cryobank has full-time donor matching counselors to help with the selection process. This optional program involves matching a photograph of the client, husband, family member or other individual to donor photographs.

HOW MANY VIALS DO I NEED?

National averages range from 3-4 insemination cycles per successful pregnancy. We recommend purchasing at least 5 vials per child to guarantee your donor remains available until reaching your personal family goals. Additionally, you get 1 Year FREE storage if you purchase 4 or more vials ($475 value).

WHY SHOULD I THINK ABOUT STORING VIALS?

Our donors sell out and retire quickly! We have thousands of clients forced to choose between a new donor or not having a second child because they chose not to store vials for future use while they were available. To help you plan for your future, we offer 3 Years FREE storage if you purchase 3 Years+ vials ($1,050 value) - as well as the ability to sell back any unused vials that have not left our control.
