Los Angeles, CA (August 2004) - California Cryobank Inc. (CCB), the leading U.S. and international sperm bank, has introduced an Open Donor Program to provide children, born of CCB Open Donors, the opportunity to contact their donor and learn more about their biological heritage. The CCB Open Donor Program is the first among the largest sperm banks in the United States.
CCB Open Donors indicate their willingness to communicate with offspring when they enter the Open Donor Program. They agree to have at least one contact with the child when they turn 18. CCB will facilitate this contact in order to protect the donor and child.
"Clients have expressed interest in this type of program and, over the years, we have received requests from children born of CCB donors to obtain more information about their donor," said Marla Eby, Vice President of Marketing for California Cryobank. "By choosing to buy vials from a CCB Open Donor, CCB clients are giving their children, when they turn 18, the option to learn more about their donor and his background."
